Allusion in song

What is Allusion?
An allusion is a brief and indirect reference to a person, place, thing, or idea of historical, cultural, literary, or political significance. It does not describe in detail the person or thing to which it refers. It is just a passing comment and the writer expects the reader to possess enough knowledge to spot the allusion and grasp its importance in a text.

There are 4 types of Allusion :
  • Religion
  • Pop Culture
  • Literature
  • Mythology

In this dance classic, she compares herself to one of the strongest metals. She is showing that no matter what you throw at her, or how much you try to knock her down, you won’t succeed.

The boy who cried wolf A boy called Peter lived with his parents in a village on the hillside. His parents, like most of the other people in the village, were sheep farmers. Everybody in the village took turns to look after the sheep, and when Peter was 10 years old, he was considered old enough to take his turn at shepherding. James and Robert are really good friends. They usually meet at school but haven’t seen each other for a while because of the pandemic.
